Things to do in Pokhara
- Phewa Lake boating & Tal Barahi Temple · 1.5 h · about ₹450 per person. Rowing boats are hired by the hour from Lakeside (roughly NPR 700–1,000 per boat). Mornings are calmest, with Machapuchare reflected on clear days; life jackets are provided.
- Sarangkot sunrise · 3 h · about ₹700 per person. Taxi up at about 5am, then a short walk to the viewpoint (small entry fee). Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Machapuchare are clearest Oct–Feb.
- Tandem paragliding from Sarangkot · 3 h · about ₹8,000 per person. 20–30 min flights landing at Phewa Lake, about US$80–100 plus photos. Pick an established operator; flights stop in strong wind and monsoon rain.
- World Peace Pagoda (Shanti Stupa) · 3 h · about ₹450 per person. Boat across Phewa and climb about 45 min, or drive most of the way. Late afternoon gives lake and mountain views at sunset.
- Davis Falls & Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave · 2 h · about ₹250 per person. Opposite each other near the airport road; the falls are fullest Jul–Oct and the cave steps are wet and slippery.
- International Mountain Museum · 2 h · about ₹350 per person. Mountaineering history and Himalayan cultures; good on a cloudy afternoon.
- Ultralight flight over the Annapurnas · 1.5 h · about ₹10,000 per person. 15–60 min flights from Pokhara airport early on clear mornings, mainly Oct–Mar. Book a day ahead and keep a spare morning.
- Begnas Lake boating and lakeside walk · 3 h · about ₹600 per person. About 30 min east of Lakeside and much quieter than Phewa.
- Australian Camp hike · 7 h · about ₹3,500 per person. Drive ~1h to Kande, then about 1.5h uphill to a meadow facing Annapurna and Machapuchare. It lies inside the Annapurna Conservation Area, so an ACAP permit (NPR 3,000) is needed; easy to extend to an overnight.
- Zipline from Sarangkot · 2 h · about ₹7,000 per person. A long, steep line down to Hemja; weight and age limits apply.
- Tashi Palkhel Tibetan settlement & monastery · 1.5 h · free. North of town at Hemja; morning prayers at the monastery and carpet weaving nearby.
- Lakeside evening walk and dinner · 2 h · about ₹1,200 per person
- Morning yoga class in Lakeside · 1.5 h · about ₹800 per person
