Best time to visit Himachal Pradesh
Himachal's seasons depend on altitude. Spring (March to June) and autumn (mid-September to November) are the best times for Shimla, Manali, Kangra and the valleys, with clear views and the paragliding and rafting seasons. December to February brings snow to Manali, Kufri and Solang, and closes high passes. July and August are the monsoon months, with landslides on the main highways — except in Spiti and Lahaul, which sit in the rain shadow and are best from June to early October while the Kunzum Pass road is open.
